Charming Nyhavn Apartment - Stunning Canal Views

Location is not everything - beware! Positive: Location is central and on every fridge magnet, postcard, etc. Beds comfortable. Apartment clean. Negative: Flat is in desperate need of renovation. Ceiling in back bedroom let in rainwater for 3 hours one night after prolonged rain (evidence on the patched ceiling and in reviews 2 years ago that this is a recurrent problem). The morning before the water poured through, a plumber let himself into the flat before we had a chance to say to the owner it would be ok (in regard to the leak) so they knew it was an issue and are still letting it out anyway! Plus red flag of man letting himself into flat with two women staying there! Broken window pane in bathroom with a whole chunk missing, other windows hanging off their hinges or don't shut fully as wood swollen. Broken armchair (legs have fallen off and just left there - see previous reviews). Light fittings with exposed cables and extension lead hanging by sink in bathroom. Blind missing from front room so person sleeping in there disturbed by the light early. No hot water in kitchen so have to boil kettle to wash up. Other issues are minor in comparison with the above: kitchen run down (broken fridge door handle), no TV, etc... I cannot believe that it is permitted to charge so much money for an apartment in such dire condition. Yes the location is on every postcard and they're charging a heck of a lot for it, so surely they can afford to renovate it and make it gorgeous. This was a birthday treat spoilt only by the place we stayed (Copenhagen otherwise amazing) I have asked for some compensation for the indoor rainwater experience and dire state of flat, will await their reply.

For open minded authenticity explorers Positive: It is a historic centuries old building resulting in sloped floors, low ceilings and weird planning. But again how often can you stay in the building that old and experience its uniqueness. City is full of squeaky clean and modern hotels you can chose if authenticity is too much to handle. The building is in probably the biggest tourist trap in Copenhagen. Thus embrace yourself for the noises of people enjoying their visit in Copenhagen. Enjoy being in everyone’s reels and selfies and later on buy a souvenir that has this building in it. Negative: Owners should apply some easy fixes as clean curtains that would significantly improve overall experience for most of the guests.

Positive: The location of the house is exceptional, right in the city center, and very close to the metro, the main shopping street, and the main historic buildings and tourist attractions. Negative: The apartment is quiet, but the bathroom is small with a barely usable shower. The beds are small, making it uncomfortable for four people. Cleanliness is poor, and the kitchen is not well-equipped at all.

Amazing location Positive: The location was amazing. Negative: There were a few issues with the apartment. The shower didn't hang on the wall so you had to hold it while showering. The windows were very dirty. The hot tap in the kitchen didn't work. The frame/ legs on one of the armchairs was broken. The walls needed to be painted. One of the quilts was dirty.
